How Inviting

My name is Sally and I am a work at home Mum of two little girls. How Inviting came about after realising that there was something missing in the local market and I thought I may be able to add that missing link. I have always enjoyed being crafty and making invitations and cards as well as canvas memory board and I even dabble in a bit of painting from time to time!

I really enjoy creating handmade invitations and coming up with new designs and ideas. For whatever the occasion, there will always be something to suit your needs. And if not, I can always custom make your ideal invitation for you. I have a website with my full range of invitations as well as other crafty bits n pieces that may catch your eye. I also have a Facebook page in which I share latest releases, handy tips and ideas as well as give-aways.

My Website is updated frequently and there are new additions to the collection added on a monthly basis. Facebook fans are the first to get a glimpse at these creations and I really enjoy getting feedback.

Simple, fresh, stunning.......and a little bit cheeky

Previously a designer from the U.K and with a BA (hons) in Mixed Media Textile Design, I have an established background in the Textile industry and love mixing simple, bold designs with an eclectic mix of mediums. Creating unique and texturally exciting Art pieces.

I travelled a lot in my early days, but (rather reluctantly) laid down my walking boots six years ago, got married, had two lovely children and finally settled in Melbourne, a city I love.

Having taken a break from doing anything creative for a few years and whilst living in a cloud of pink fairy dust (I have two girls) it was obvious to me that I should now be designing for children.

With an ever increasing passion for all things paper, I started to dabble with different techniques. Initially, I started with canvas and paint and other mixed mediums, but nothing felt “quite right”. So one day, I pulled out my old trusty sewing machine and as soon as I heard that thud, thud, thud of the needle piercing through paper, it felt like I’d finally come home. This was the day I launched Cheeky Pickle and I haven’t looked back since.

Over the years as my business has developed, so too have my designs. Now you can find a homewares collection and an ever expanding and very popular range of stitched greetings cards and gift tags. Paper Bunting is also a brand new and exciting addition to my range, which I can’t wait to get working on.......

All about Mellebug and me.....

Mellebug came about with the birth of my first, Amelia nearing on 5 years ago. What started off making little things for her, myself, friends and family has turned into a little bit of heaven doing what I love combined with raising my two beautiful children. I began with my little blog, sharing my passion with my weekly ramblings and making free tutorials that I put onto pdf so as to share with the world. As my wee ones grew I found more opportunity to sew, along with designing and making products that had not yet made it onto the handmade circuit. What ensued was the my introduction to facebook (ohmeohmy what a world).

I make a couple of different things from Reversible and adjusable childrens hats, to dragon and dinosaur costumes to lupin heatpacks called Boo Bears. With impending winter approaching us my Boo Bears are just perfect to snuggle up to keep warm at night or to help soothe a sore tummy. Children (and adults) are falling in love with the uniqueness and practicality of these cuties.The Boo Bears are made using 100% Aussie Lupins that are that much better than conventional wheat. They retain the heat longer, lighter in weight, can be used as a cold pack, less susceptible to moisture damage and low allergenic.


My hats not only have the added bonus of being reversible but it can also grown with your childs head, getting many years of wear. As for the costumes they are custom made to your colour choice and are just that little bit different and cute, perfect for parties or just to roar around the house with.

My little business is built around my family, the joy of creating and the lovers of Mellebug wares. It has opened so many doors and new friends that I am so grateful to all that had faith in me and Mellebug.
